BRADFORD DJ ENTERTAINMENT is a Music DJ and Planning Service, Specializing in Weddings, Parties and Special Events. Welcome. My name is David Bradford (DJ Dave) owner/operator of Bradford DJ Entertainment. My passion and love of music began after graduating from Madera High School in 1963. My dad told me if I learned to play his electric guitar I could have it, and the rest is history. Within a year I started a rock band named The Eastgates. Over the next 6 years we built a reputation as one of the top cover bands in the Greater Fresno/Central Valley area, playing every major venue of those days and shared the stage with many top recording artist; Van Marrison, The Young Rascals, The Turtles and The Grassroots, to name a few. The experience gained through those years of performing live and managing The Eastgates, taught me to communicate and work with clients, to customize playlists, read a crowd and keep them having fun dancing. These same skills are the essence of a Professional DJ today. Drafted by the Army in late 1969, I served in Viet Nam and Germany and married my lovely wife Lena in 1972. Back home, The Eastgates dissolved, I returned to and graduated from Fresno State and spent the next 30 years with the Madera County Sheriff's Department and 35 years as an instructor at the Fresno Police Academy. In commanding the sheriff's special teams and a variety of divisional units, I learned how to plan in detail, an ability that serves my clients today in creating their personalized wedding and reception timelines and ensuring that we get their event right the first time. After retirement in 2004, still loving music, I returned to collecting and playing music. My passion for entertaining an audience remains strong. After a number of successful DJing parties and weddings, I fell in love with the wedding process and began to focus on and study every aspect of wedding protocol, special music, planning and timeline development. I keep it simple, revealing to couples the secrets to enjoying a seamless and stress free wedding and reception, treating every event as if it were my own. Merging acquired skills, experience and knowledge, I created Bradford DJ Entertainment with the vision of providing a Professional DJ and Planning Service for Weddings, Parties and Special Events at the most affordable price. Unlike most, I already have a retirement income and enjoy my life in the Madera Ranchos, so this grandpa is not motivated by your money.
